  • Body is divided into cephalothorax and abdomin
  • The cephalothorax has 6 pairs of appendages
    • First set of appendages chelicerae
    • 2nd set is the pedipalps
    • Remaining 4 pairs are the walking legs
  • Abdomen is unsegmented, rounded and without telson
  • Abdomen have 3 pairs of spinning organs which produce threads for construction of web
  • Arachnids do not have both wings and antennae
  • Arachnids have actually simple eyes called ocelli
  • Respiration by book lungs
  • Excretion by Coxal glands and Malphigian tubules
  • Development is direct
