Skeletal Muscle Function
In this article we will discuss about the skeletal muscle function
Skeletal Muscle Function
- Skeletal muscle is also called voluntary muscle because this muscle is responsible for all voluntary actions of the body.
- By pulling on tendons, they then produce movement of the skeleton.
- Maintaining posture and body position
- Support soft tissues and store nutrient reserves
- Skeletal muscles protect the internal organs from injury and also provide support.
- It supports the entry and exit points of the body, sphincters are present around the anus, mouth and the urinary tract. It facilitates the swallowing of food, defecation and urination.
- The skeletal muscles also regulate body temperature.
- After exercise, the body feels hot due to the contraction of skeletal muscles which converts energy into heat.
Frequently Asked Questions: –
What is an example of skeletal muscle?
Skeletal muscle occur in muscles which are attached to the skeleton. In our body shoulder muscles, hamstring muscles and abdominal muscles are best examples of skeletal muscles
What is the function of skeletal muscle?
The main function of skeletal muscle is is responsible for all voluntary actions of the body and also help for body position, store nutrient, insulator and regulate body temperature
Is skeletal muscle voluntary or involuntary?
They are voluntary muscle because this muscle is responsible for all voluntary actions of the body.
