  • Commonly known as acorn worm or tongue worms
  • Solitary and burrowing worm-like marine animal
  • The body of Balanoglossus is soft, elongated, cylindrical and covered with mucus
  • Length of animal varies from 2 cm to 2.5 meters
  • The body is un-segmented and divided into three regions:- Proboscis, Collar and Trunk
  • Alimentary canal straight; mouth and anus at opposite ends.
